Notre Dame "Unity Pin"

Notre Dame Notre Dame Schools began their mission to establish Catholic education in the Poconos in 1934 with the opening of St. Matthew’s School. In 1967, Notre Dame Jr. -Sr. High School opened for Grades 7-12. Also St. Matthew’s (now Notre Dame Elementary) was educating Grades K-6. In 2005 the recently constructed Notre Dame High School was dedicated with the newly configured Notre Dame Middle School educating Grades 5-8 and Notre Dame Elementary, PK-4. Notre Dame Schools’ philosophy is to provide quality Catholic education remembering that each student is a child of God. Notre Dame educates our youth within an atmosphere of a strong Catholic community infused with and directed by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our Notre Dame “Unity Pin” depicts our community (hands) holding each child (heart) with the help of the cross (Jesus’ presence in our lives). The colors of blue, burgundy, and green represent each of the Notre Dame schools.
